1. Indulge in the Best Foods!
Can you guess what food Kansas City is known for? Well, you may have guessed correctly: barbecue! Whether you are just passing through KC or staying longer, having some amazing smoked meats is a must, otherwise were you really in KC if you didn’t try some delicious barbecue? We were lucky enough to try a few restaurants, and not one of them disappointed! It’s quite amazing to see such a variety of food. Being a picky eater, I was surprised that every menu had something for me.😊

2. Visit Spider-Man Exhibit
If you are a fan of this Marvel comic superhero, than a visit here is a must! The exhibit is located at the Union Station Kansas City and is extremely engaging. It is a temporary exhibit, so make sure to plan your visit soon before it moves to another city.
3. Ladoga Ridge Winery
For those who like wine and great vibes, Ladoga Ridge should certainly be on your itinerary. Ladoga is an award-winning winery where you can taste a variety of wines. Their house slushie will transport you straight to the Caribbean islands. The 4-acre property is very spacious and provides some of the best views in the area.
4. Arabia Steamboat Museum
This history museum is a hidden gem! You can see the countless artifacts recovered from the Arabia, which sank in 1856 in the Missouri River. If you are a history buff, you will love exploring the museum and watching staff preserve the uncovered treasure.
5. Go Brew Hopping
With over 30 breweries in Kansas City (and supposedly more opening soon), you can create a brewery tour on your own! Kam and I love sampling local craft beers and their vibes. Every place we visited, is unique in its own way, which makes it that much more inviting.

6. Betty Rae's Ice Cream
Now, it would not be a successful visit to KC if we did not indulge in some ice cream. Betty Rae’s is one of the most popular ice cream spots in the city, and for a very good reason. The second you enter the shop, the smell of fresh waffle cones welcomes you along with some of the tastiest ice cream flavors there are. I dare you to try the goat cheese flavor-it’s quite interesting to say the least.😊
7. Search for Street Art
Every city we visit, we always search for Instagrammable photo ops-which, for the most part, turn out to be murals painted by local artists. To our surprise, KC has a lot of artistic, fun, and colorful artwork that can be easily found by taking a stroll through the city.
8. The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art
With over 40,000 pieces from all continents and cultures, this museum is a wonderland for those who love art. It has been recognized by many magazines as one of the best museums to visit. You can easily spend an entire day here, walking through all the exhibits and admiring the collections.
9. Donutology
If you have been reading our blogs for a while, you know I have a sweet tooth! Donutology has one of the best mini donuts I have ever had! They are the perfect size, and you don’t feel too bad about indulging in them. Also, the fact that they are made right in front of you, makes them taste that much better!
10. Explore Weston Bend State Park
After eating all of KC’s best foods and treats, now it’s time to find an outdoorsy spot you can explore and burn some calories. Weston Bend State Park is a great option considering it’s not too busy, and the views from the scenic overlook are quite serene. I am sure in just few weeks, fall foliage will start to peak and hiking here will be especially beautiful.
Kansas City, MO, is such an amazing city to visit, with so much to offer. We hope that this quick list helps you add something new to your itinerary and makes your visit here even more memorable!
