With the summer now saying goodbye, and the days becoming shorter, we still need to find things to do around the city! List below should keep you entertained for the next few colder months, while we wait for Summer 2022!
Drive in Movie Theater
Address: 2343 S Throop St, Chicago, IL 60608
Watching a scary movie in your own car, with a great sound system, while snacking on your favorite items, is actually a really fun experience! It was our first time, and we had a blast. We did go during the week and watched Quiet Place 2, so it was not terribly packed. You can also order food and beverages straight from your car, so it makes it extremely convenient.
Goat Yoga
Address: 100 W Higgins Rd F-70, South Barrington, IL 60010
By far this has got to be my favorite experience! Yes we did "some" yoga, but in reality everyone was there for the goats! Having it be the week of Halloween, these little ones were dressed in costumes, which completely melted my heart. They have 2 locations, and the owner/instructor is super amazing with both people and her goats :) If you love animals, as much as we do, make sure to visit them!
Museum of Illusions
Address: 25 E Washington St, Chicago, IL 60602
Recently opened, Museum of Illusions is a really cool and immersive experience worth checking out. Ideally, try to visit early on the weekend, or during the week, so that you have all the time you can to experience all the rooms and different visuals. Some of them will definitely blow your mind, that I can promise!
Sears Tower Skydeck
Address; 233 S Wacker Dr, Chicago, IL 60606
What would your Chicago trip be without a visit to Sears Tower?! Yes, Sears Tower, not Willis Tower :) I can bet you, you will not find anyone who has been raised here calling this building anything else but a Sears Tower! The views from the skydeck are so amazing, and if you dare, you can step onto the glass floor and really feel the height of this giant. Really cool experience at anytime of the day.
Von Gogh Exhibit Yoga
Address: 108 W Germania Pl, Chicago, IL 60610
These exhibitions have been popping up everywhere, but here in Chicago you can actually do a yoga session, while fully immersing into the exhibit. With the music and the visuals, it was quite hard to concentrate on the yoga itself, but it was truly a relaxing experience and not one to miss.
Alpaca Farm
Address: 25638 W Chatham Rd, Barrington, IL 60010
If you love animals, this is a MUST! This farm is owned by the sweetest lady named Linda, who has all the love and passion for animals. She will tell you everything there is to know about alpacas, and other animals that she takes care of here. If you plan on visiting, make sure to email or call ahead to set up a reservation. We were there with only 4 more people, and had the best time with all the animals. We left this place with many laughs and lots of smiles on our faces.
Navy Pier
Address: 600 E Grand Ave, Chicago, IL 60611
Outside of the big Ferris Wheel, and boat rides, there is still so much to do here. Not only are there numerous restaurants and shopping with the best views of lake Michigan, there is also a garden upstairs. Recently, it was announced that the garden will turn into a paid virtual space, so make sure to visit soon in case this does take place. I am all for the city creating revenue, but not by taking away plants or any greenery that have been there for a long time. Let's hope it stays that way!
Morton Arboretum
Address: 4100 IL-53, Lisle, IL 60532
This place is amazing at any season of the year. It provides over 16 miles of trails, and never-ending scenery for some amazing photos especially during fall months. Since May of this year, Morton Arboretum has been hosting a Nature/Human exhibition which showcases amazing sculptures that connects people with trees. If you love the outdoors, this park is it! You can easily spend an entire day here, exploring all the different spots and trails.
There is always a ton to do in Chicago! It's one of those cities where you will not get bored :)
Have a blast next time you visit and don't hesitate to reach out for recommendations.
Stay tuned for things to do around Christmas time!
