We are officially one month away from from Christmas Eve! If you are in Chicago, or planning to visit for the holidays, here are some fun activities for you and your loved ones. Chicago is one of the more festive cities that likes to celebrate in full force. Make sure to check out these spots if you are here in for the holidays!
Jack Frost Pop Up
Address: 170 N Green Street, Chicago
This place is one Instagrammable playground. Make sure you have your camera ready for all the photo opps that are here! On top of it all, there are plenty of carnival games, bumper cars, axe throwing, and lots of yummy drinks. Plan good few hours here to enjoy all the festivities. Jack Frost is open till December 31st, so it is a perfect holiday stop!
Sparkle Light Festival
Address: 9850 Balmoral Avenue, Rosemont
Close to ORD airport, you will find AMAZE Light Festival in Rosemont. It is the must-visit holiday destination of the season with an immersive display of millions of holiday lights! It will be open till December 31st, so make sure to swing by!
Santa Baby Bar
Address: 3505 N Clark, Chicago
One thing that we love the most about Chicago is the bar scene. Santa Baby Bar is one of the most decorated pop up bars, that needs to be on your Holiday Bucket list. It has two floors, a roof top, and an outdoor area, which gives plenty of space to enjoy the best and festive cocktails they are serving. Trust us, this place will put you right in Christmas mood!
Wndr Museum
Address: 1130 W Monroe St, Chicago
This place is quite new to Chicago, but it is so unique and a must see when visiting Chi town. Home to an ever-evolving immersive art & technology experience that is designed to ignite the curiosity that exists within and around each exhibit. Currently they have the winter wonderland exhibit till January 15th, which revolves around the holidays, however, it will stay open after that as well!
Maggie Daley Ice Skating
Address:337 E Randolph St, Chicago
You cannot complete your holiday activities without ice skating! Thankfully, there are two ice rinks; one at Maggie Daley and one across the street at Millennium Park. With the perfect views of the city, and holiday tunes, you will have a blast skating around. We personally liked Maggie Daley better, just because it is not just a circle, but rather a ribbon, so it does not get boring as quickly :) Make sure to plan ahead, since they do run out of capacity, especially on weekends!
Museum of Science and Industry
Address: 5700 S Lake Shore Dr, Chicago
Museum of Science and Industry is an amazing place for all ages, especially families. There are so many exhibits that will spark anyone's interest. At this time you can also visit Christmas around the World Exhibit. It is incredible, since you get to see over 50 trees and displays decorated by volunteers to represent holiday traditions from all around the world.
Zoo Lights
Address: 2001 N Clark, Chicago
In the heart of the Lincoln Park Zoo, you will find a free event called Zoo Lights! With thousands of lights shimmering to holiday songs, you will know Christmas is right around the corner. Keep in mind the event is free Mondays and Tuesdays, otherwise it is only $5!
Christkindlmarket
Address: 50 W Washington, Chicago
Now this is a staple of Chicago Holiday Bucket list that cannot be missed. Tons of holiday vendors along with amazing European foods can be easily found here. For the first time, there are now two locations! The other location is at Wrigleyville and supposedly it is just as fun! We have not been there yet, but hoping to stop by over the holidays.
Regardless of what you do and where you are, make sure to take some time for yourself and your loved ones around this time. We all get caught up with Christmas shopping, running around like crazy, and by the time we know: it's already January. And if you are in Chicago, make sure to stop by at any of these places! You will not regret it.
Wishing you all happy and safe holidays!
